ACTIVITY IN 2004-2005:
Being a branch of the Crimean Republican Association 'Ecologiya I Mir', we took part in realization of the following projects.
Since January 2003 realization of project 'Water for sustainable development and health in Crimea' has begun. In fact, it was supported by the Dutch fund NOVIB. Under these circumstances our organization in Dzhankoy functions in Northern Crimea (Dzhankoyski region and Krasnoperekopski region).In addition to this, issues on water management was talked over. We tested water sources and analyzed its sanitary condition. Also we took samples of drinking water in 10 settlements. As a consequence it was found out that water analysis does not correspond to the standard. Furthermore, children in four schools were examined on thyroid gland illnesses; thus we provided them with remedies. We questioned local population on the problem of quality of drinking water and its rational use. Our organization participated in republican conference regarding integrated water management in Crimea. In fact, this process is highlighted in mass media.
From June to September 2004 the project called 'Protect yourself' was implemented under support of ISAR 'Ednannya', within the framework of the program 'Social will is a great power' together with Institute of sustainable associations (Vermont, USA).
